Welcome To Taylors Lakes
Taylors Lakes is located 23 km north west of Melbourne and in the 2011 census, had a population of 16,095. Bordered by the Calder Freeway in the north, Overnewton Road and Taylors Creek in the east, Lady Nelson Way in the south and the Bendigo railway line in the west. The suburb is composed of recent developments dating from the 1990s, with Taylors Lakes Post Office opening on 18 August 1994.
Taylors Lakes has extensive facilities servicing both its local and surrounding areas and has two commercial shopping centres - Taylors Lakes Shopping Centre which has a Woolworths Supermarket, a Fresh Food Market and 20 specialty stores, and Watergardens Town Centre, which is a much larger shopping centre with a cinema, council library and more than 300 outlets. Watergardens Town Centre has fast become the central hub of activity and is also home to a restaurant precinct, bowling alley, train station and fitness centres.
The area is well serviced by the metro train line and an extensive bus network. There is an extensive collection of sporting and recreational facilities including the Taylors Lakes Recreational Club, Taylors Lakes Football Club, Taylors Lakes Cricket Club, Taylors Lakes Tennis Club and Sydenham Soccer club.
